Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
A thought just occurred to me. I’m back on to watching Babylon 5 episodes (still on Season 4), and I couldn’t help but note how similar Emperor Cartagia is to Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones. They’re both sadistic, psychopathic kings who take obvious pleasure in watching other characters suffer. For Cartagia, he likes torturing G’Kar. For Joffrey, it’s…well, almost anybody who isn’t a Lannister—-Sansa especially. There was also a scene where he forced a local minstrel to sing a song that was about the late King Robert Baratheon that insulted Joffrey’s mother, and made the minstrel choose between losing his fingers or tongue as punishment. It was VERY Cartagia-like in the way he did it too.
Yeah they both seem to be rooted in the, Nero/Caligula “Crazy Monarch” Archetype, Game of Thrones gets away with showing much more rough things though for several reasons.
I think Cartagia was probably twice as bad as he seems we just never saw it.

Wow I really can’t unsee this now.
